Lexi Manteufel led the way for the Firebirds, finishing tied for third individually with rounds of 79 and 76 for a two-round total of 155. Manteufel's consistent play helped pace Carthage throughout the tournament. Ro Longden followed closely behind, recording rounds of 85 and 75 to finish with a total score of 160. Longden made a significant jump in the second round, improving by 10 strokes to help the Firebirds' final-round push. Mae Norman posted a pair of steady rounds, carding an 85 in the first round and a 76 in the second for a total of 161. Carthage's scoring lineup was rounded out by a 172 from Alyssa Nenoff, with a round of 89 and 83. 

The Firebirds also had a second team competing, with Carthage College (B) finishing eighth with a team score of 672. Nina Mayfield led the C team with rounds of 85 and 77 for a total of 162, while Emily Tralewski finished with rounds of 85 and 80 for a 165. McKenna Sosnowski followed with rounds of 88 and 80 for a 168. Lauren Howe added scores of 91 and 84, Steda Lundak chipped in with scores of 90 and 88 for the Carthage (C) squad and Auntumn Burnett and Julianna Barajas tallied scores of 91 and 88 and 92 and 88 respectively. 


"Super proud of our team this weekend. We have been working hard the last two weeks to prepare for the opening tournament and came out Saturday and shot the lowest score (310) of my coaching career. The depth of our team has grown so much and is awesome to see how they support each other to continue to improve."
