BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — The Carthage women's golf team finished with a fifth-place tie this Saturday afternoon alongside Wisconsin-Whitewater after shooting 620 (+44) over the two-round tournament. The Firebirds shot 315 (+27) on the second day of play, finishing just one stroke behind Illinois Wesleyan in fourth place.

Shooting 75 (+3) in the second round and carding a 36-hole total of 149 (+5) was senior Kate Munro, who finished with a seventh-place tie on the leaderboards. It was an excellent showing for Sophomore Symantha Rohwedder, who finished in an 11th-place tie as an individual, shooting 75 (+3) on day one and 76 (+4) this afternoon to combine for 151 (+7).  In a 13th-place tie was junior Adrienne Rohwedder, who carded a 36-hole total of 152 (+8) after shooting a team low 72 (E) yesterday morning. Madi McCoy finished with 159 (+15) in the third position for the Firebirds, while Lorelei Oomens ended with 162 (+18). Alina Brindza rounded out the Carthage scorecard with 169 (+25).
Sami Plankey and Maggie Bahr also competed as individuals and carded 164 (+20) and 167 (+23), respectively.

Next up for the Firebirds is the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Fall Invitational which begins next Friday, September 24th, in Janesville, Wis.
