Women’s Soccer Clipped by Fontbonne

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The Carthage women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 contest to Fontbonne on Saturday at Centene Stadium. 

Fontbonne (1-1) struck first in the first half to take a 1-0 lead into the intermission break. The Griffins doubled their lead in the 69th minute with a ball that trickled through the left side into the net. Katie Talens had a nice look at a goal for Carthage (1-3) but the Griffins keeper made the save at the 79th minute. Erin Otto took a shot in the 89th minute but it sailed high as Fontbonne won the game 2-0. 

Next up, the soccer team takes on No. 4 WashU on Sunday, September 12 beginning at 11 a.m.
