WAVERLY, Iowa — Women's golf traveled to Iowa this Saturday to take part in the Wartburg Fall Invitational, which was held at the Prairie Links Golf Course. The Firebirds shot 302 (+14) in round one of the tournament, to land a fifth place finish on the leaderboard for the day. In first place is St. Catherine University, who shot 293 (+5) collectively.

Kate Munro opened things up for the Firebirds by carding 74 (+12) for the round, which would put her in a 12th-place tie on the individual leaderboard. One stroke behind her were two of her teammates, Lorelei Oomens and Madi McCoy, who both landed in an 18th-place tie. Alina Brindza carded a 78 (+6), and Adrienne Rohwedder closed out the Carthage scorecard with an 80 (+8). Four individual players competed for Carthage as individuals, the first being Sami Plankey who carded an 80 (+8) for the day, and Adrienne Rohwedder, who carded an 80 as well. Maggie Bahr finished one stroke behind Plankey with 81 (+8), while the last golfer of the day, Symantha Rohwedder, closed with an 82 (+9).

The final round of the tournament concludes tomorrow.
