LA CROSSE, Wis. — The Carthage women's lacrosse team picked up another non-conference win 17-7 over Wisconsin-La Crosse at Veterans Memorial.
Carthage (3-2) got on the board with a goal from
Jessie Gibson. After Wisconsin-La Crosse (4-4) put in two, the Firebirds retaliated with seven unanswered goals. Both teams traded goals heading into the halftime break as the visitors went up 9-3.
The momentum continued for Carthage in the second half with three goals from Gibson,
Rachel Harris, and
Maddie Berni making it 12-3. After the home team scored one, another three goals for the Firebirds extended the lead to 15-4. Though the Eagles registered three goals and Carthage tallied two, the Firebirds won the game 17-7.
Carthage is in action tomorrow, March 28 taking on Wisconsin-River Falls at 1 p.m.
