Later, the Firebirds cut the lead to four with a Big Blue attack error making it 19-15. Out of a Millikin timeout, a kill from Haley Horner, and a Big Blue attack error tied the set at 22. Carthage went on to take the set scoring three-straight points sparked by a kill from Horner and two service aces from Nicole Acton 25-22.

Millikin started the second with a fast 8-2 lead. With the Big Blue up eight, a kill from Molly Skoda made it 17-10, however, Millikin closed out the set with an 8-3 run to win the set 25-13.

Head Coach Leanne Ulmer

"Big win on the road tonight against a very talented Millikin team. We really struggled passing and dug ourselves a hole Nicole Acton went on a long service run to help us pull out set one! It was just a battle the whole night. Our seniors really stepped up and Molly Skoda was tough tonight. It was a great team win!! So so proud of them!!"
