Women’s Bowling Improves to Second Overall at Titan Invitational

11/7/2021 8:29:00 PM

OSHKOSH, Wis. — It was another excellent day of play for the Carthage women's bowling team at the Titan Invitational this Sunday afternoon, as the Firebirds finished second overall for the event.

The team ended their opening baker matches in fourth place, good enough to qualify amongst the top six teams to advance to the final bracket of the tournament. The Firebirds bested conference opponent Carroll University 2-1, before toppling Marian University 2-0 to head to the championship round. The team would ultimately fall to UW-Whitewater 3-1 in a nail biting final match of the day to secure their second-place finish.

Junior Varsity also had an impressive showing today, as they defeated Whitewater in a head to head best of five baker match to win their division. The two teams tied each other at 2.5 games each, but Carthage would win the match due to their higher pin fall for the day.

Carthage is back in action on Friday as they host the three-day 'SFA Ladyjack Classic' event in Kenosha, Wis.
