STEVENS POINT, Wis.  — The Carthage College women's wrestling team wrapped up their first competition of the season as the Firebirds concluded the Wisconsin-Stevens Point Invite on Saturday. 

At 116 pounds, Natalie Majer lost by tech fall in the quarterfinal 16-5 and in the consolation round by tech fall 11-0. Nadia Flores suffered two tech fall losses at 123 pounds while at 136, Hilda Gonzalez lost by two tech falls. Rounding out the day for Carthage was Adele Senzig at 143 who lost over fall. 

The Firebirds return to action on Saturday, November 13 for the Adrian College Dual Tournament starting at 9 a.m.

"We had some wrestlers who reached some goals and earned some really tough wins today. Everyone has been consistently learning and improving every practice and it showed at this tournament! What I'm most impressed with is the amount of heart every wrestler on this team showed today and that's what is going to propel them to championships down the road.
