ADRIAN, Mich.  — The Carthage College women's wrestling team finished the Adrian College Open on Sunday. The Firebirds took ninth on the day as a team while Natalie Majer finished fifth and Hilda Gonzalez placed seventh. 

Natalie Majer concluded a 3-2 record and scored 14 team points. Majer won by tech fall in the first round, then won by fall in the second consolation round. In the fifth-place match, Majer won by fall over her Ferris State University opponent.

At 136 pounds, Hilda Gonzalez placed eighth with a 1-2 record. Gonzalez won in the third round of the consolation and took seventh.

Up next, Carthage travels to Aurora on Wednesday, November 17, starting at 5:30 p.m.
