Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Carthage Clips Pioneers 5-1 at Home

KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage men's soccer team celebrated their senior day with a victory, defeating Carroll 5-1 at Art Keller Field on Wednesday night.

After a weather delay that moved the game's start time back two hours, the Firebirds (9-5-2, 2-3-1 CCIW) were first on the scoreboard after a Mickey Reilly goal, before he sliced through the defense after the ensuing kick off to quickly make it 2-0. However, the Pioneers (8-5-1, 1-3-1 CCIW) responded moments later, setting the halftime score at 2-1.

Just under 10 minutes into the second half, Collin Moran scored his fifth goal of the season to extend the Carthage lead, before Colin Iverson netted his second of the year nearly two minutes later. Once again, after the kick off at 4-1, the Firebirds would add another goal, as Aidan Crowder scored off an assist from Mason McCaw to give the home team five goals.

Carthage takes a break from conference play this weekend, beginning with a match against Case Western Reserve in South Bend, Ind. on Friday, October 22.
