ST PETER, Minn. — Eight members from the men's tennis team traveled to Gustavus Adolphus College this Friday to compete in the 2021 ITA Midwest Regional Tournament, a single-elimination tournament consisting of both singles and doubles draws.

Daniel Moore started day one 2-0 in the singles bracket, winning his opening match 6-2 against Luther, before taking down GAC 6-4, 6-3. Chris Mitev swept his opening match 6-0, 6-0 before falling to his Carleton opponent in his second match, while Myles Krzewinski was undefeated for the day after sweeping his first match 6-0, 6-0 and his second 6-3, 6-1. Tripp Schulte grabbed one win on the day 6-3, 6-2 versus Grinnell before falling in his second match, while Yanozie Amadike closed out for Carthage after winning both his matches 6-3, 7-6 against Coe and 6-3, 6-0 versus Carleton.

Moore and Amadike paired up to give the Firebirds an 8-4 win in their doubles draw. Myles Krzewinski and Cooper Ferruzzi will also advance to the next round after taking down their Grinnell opponents 8-5.
