KENOSHA, Wis. — On a cold and windy Tuesday night, the Carthage College women's lacrosse team picked up a 19-6 victory over Benedictine (Ill.) at Art Keller Field.

The Lady Reds (2-1) jumped out with goals from Rachel Harris, Jessie Gibson and Margaux Giacotto to go up 3-0. Giacotto scored at the 21:20 mark to put the Lady Reds up 4-0. Carthage added two more goals to increase the margin to 6-0 until the Eagles (0-1) found the back of the net twice to narrow the deficit to 6-2. The Lady Reds retailed scoring five more goals to extend the advantage to 11-3. Benedictine (Ill.) tacked on one goal before Carthage responded with three goals of their own to put the home team up 14-4 into the halftime break. 

The Eagles put in a goal to start the second making it 14-5 however, the Lady Reds recorded three goals making it 17-5. Although Benedictine (Ill.) netted a lone goal, Carthage took the victory 19-6. 

The Lady Reds stay at home facing Saint Mary's (Ind.) on Saturday, February 29 beginning at 1 p.m.
