Carthage Falls at Carroll

WAUKESHA, Wis. — The Carthage College women's basketball team fell to Carroll University on the road Wednesday night, 91-55 in the Van Male Field House.

The home team opened up on a run, with Carthage (8-11, 3-7 CCIW) scoring their first points on a pair of free throws from Kelsey Coshun. After a jumper from Sammie Woodward near the end of the quarter, the Pioneers (7-11, 3-7 CCIW) would take a 19-5 lead into the second period. Each team would score over 20 points in the second frame, as a jumper from Woodward and three-point basket by Destiny Antoine gave the Lady Reds 27 at the half, with Carroll at 47.

The home team would maintain their lead through the remainder of the contest, eventually claiming the 91-55 victory. Carthage will take the weekend off before returning to action next Wednesday, February 5, when they host North Central in Tarble Arena at 7 p.m.
