RACINE, WIS.—The Carthage College men's tennis team embarked on a CCIW match against North Central College (Ill.) at the Life Sport Athletic Club in Racine on Friday. The Red Men came up on the wrong end of a 5-4 decision against the Cardinals.

The Red Men fall to 13-6, 2-2 CCIW while North Central falls to 14-4, 2-1 CCIW.

North Central 5, Red Men 4 (Box Score)

The Red Men exited doubles in a 2-1 hole, where Daniel Moore/Matt Krzewinski converted an 8-5 decision over Tyler Bussell/Tyler Haizel in the #2 flight.

Tripp Schulte tied the team score 2-2 when he collected a 6-1, 6-2 win over Tyler Bussell in #2 singles. John Nykyforuk gave Carthage a 3-2 lead when he up-ended Justin Howes 6-2, 6-3 in #4 singles. Daniel Moore added to that cushion when his 6-2, 6-1 win over Victor Krueger in #1 singles pushed the Red Men's lead to 4-2. That was all the arsenal Carthage had as North Central victories in #6, #3 and #5 singles propelled them to a 5-4 come-from-behind victory.

The Red Men will square-off against Wheaton College on the road on Saturday, April 13 at 12:00 p.m.
