RACINE, WIS.—After a rare two-week hiatus from competition, the Carthage College men's tennis team opened their CCIW schedule against Carroll University, and ended the day with a bout against Principia College at the Life Sport Athletic Club in Racine on Saturday. The Red Men opened the day with a 8-1 thrashing of Carroll (Wis.) before they dropped a 6-3 heartbreaker to Principia College.
 
The split sends Carthage's record to 12-4, 1-0 CCIW. Carroll fell to 2-9 while Principia upped their record to 8-5 after Saturday.

Carthage exited doubles with a 3-0 edge, where Kevin Dunn/Fordy Leipold kicked-off the day with an 8-0 throttle of Jordan Nowell/Nick Bissegger in the #3 slot. Tripp Schulte/Matt Krzewinski continued to display their gritty mentality with an 8-4 victory over Joseph Garrison/Mitchel Gjerseth in #2 doubles.  The doubles flight concluded when Daniel Moore/Andre Antreassian came through with an 8-7 decision over Ian Foster/Chayce Roecker in #1 action.
 
Kevin Dunn continued his career day with a 6-0, 6-0 thrashing of Nick Bissegger in #5 singles. Matt Krzewinski followed with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Mitchel Gjerseth in the #4 slot. The #2 singles slot was occupied by Tripp Schulte, who followed with a 6-1, 6-1 decision over Joseph Harrison. Next up was Andre Antreassian, who converted a 6-2, 6-1 win over Ian Foster in #3 . Daniel Moore lost a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 battle to Chayce Roecker in #1 singles before Oscar Irazoque wrapped the day with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Ryan Strupp in #6 singles.
 
Principia 6, Red Men 3 (Box Score)
 
The Panthers took a 3-0 lead after they swept the doubles portion. Principia clinched the match after Daniel Gomez, #23 on the latest ITA Central Region Ranking, defeated Daniel Moore 6-3, 6-3 and Greg Sovie edged Andre Antreassian 6-3, 7-6 in the #1 and #3 slots. Matt Krzewinski scored for Carthage with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Nat Kenworthy in #5 singles. John Nykyforuk followed with a 7-6, 6-4 win over Jules Kitchingman in #4 singles.
 
Wyatt Dale defeated Tripp Schulte 6-7, 6-2, 11-9 in the #2 slot before Dunn put the finishing touches on his strong day with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Brody Swan in #6 singles.
 
The Red Men will travel to Millikin University on Friday, April 5 for a 3:00 p.m. match.
