CHICAGO—The Carthage College men's basketball team continued their stretch run with a Saturday-night bout at North Park University. The Red Men got off the schnide with an 85-65 victory over the Vikings, snapping a seven-game losing skid.
Â
The Red Men shot a season-high .485 (33-68) from the field, and
Kienan Baltimore had a lot to do with that as he notched a game-high 20 points on 7-14 shooting along with 10 assists for his fifth double-double of the season.
Jordon Kedrowski was another key factor with 17 points on 7-16 shooting.
Mike Canady and
Jacob Polglase each chipped in 13 points while
Sean Johnson rounded out the five Carthage players in double-figures with 12 points and a team-high eight boards.
Â
Carthage also nailed 12 three-point baskets, the most since the calendar turned to 2019.
Â
The Red Men improve to 8-15, 3-11 CCIW while North Park drops to 4-19, 2-13 CCIW.

Five lead changes took place over the course of the first half. Two of them occurred courtesy of
Jordon Kedrowski, who gave Carthage 3-2 and 6-4 leads off three-pointers. Kedrowski's three-pointer that made the score 6-4 with 16:35 left in the first kick-started a Red Men 13-3 run, giving them their largest advantage of the half at 16-7 with 14:02 left.
Â
That fell by the wayside when North Park took the fourth lead change when Matt Szuba's three-pointer made the score 31-30 with 4:16 left in the first. This ignited Carthage's 9-2 run to close the frame, giving them a 39-33 edge at halftime.
Â
The Red Men didn't look back as they eclipsed an impressive .548 (17-31) field goal percentage and a 46-32 advantage in the second half, which helped them hang onto that lead and secure an 85-65 win.
