Kienan Baltimore's 1,000th Point Not Enough in 85-54 Loss to #23 Cardinals

KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College men's basketball team hosted #23 North Central College (Ill.) in the first of two home games to end the 2018-19 regular season. Kienan Baltimore drained his 1,000th career point with 8:14 left in the first half, but it wasn't enough life the Red Men needed in an 85-54 loss to the Cardinals.

Baltimore finished the contest with 16 points on 4-of-10 shooting and tied for a team-leading six rebounds. Jordon Kedrowski chipped in 14 points and five boards while Sean Johnson tallied 10 points along with six boards and three blocks.

North Central's Blaise Meredith registered a game-high 22 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double while Connor Raridon tallied 21 points and eight rebounds.

The loss sends Carthage to 8-16, 3-12 CCIW, and the Cardinals improve to 19-5, 11-4 CCIW.

North Central 85, Red Men 54

A 17-2 Cardinals run to open the first half was all the cushion needed as they cruised to a 50-24 halftime lead over the Red Men.

Baltimore's 12 first-half points paced Carthage, which included his 1,000th point at the 8:14 mark. North Central edged the Red Men 35-30 in the second quarter. Carthage came back and nailed four three-pointers after not making one in the first half, but it wasn't enough to mount a comeback in an 85-54 loss.

The Red Men will conclude their 2018-19 regular season against #4 Augustana College at Tarble Arena on Saturday, February 16 at 7:00 p.m.
