KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College men's basketball team hosted Illinois Wesleyan University in a Saturday-night bout at Tarble Arena.
Kienan Baltimore's old-fashioned three-point play with 0:14 left in the game gave Carthage a 74-73 lead before the Titans' Brady Rose's driving layup, and free throw with :07 on the clock doomed the Red Men in a 76-74 loss.
Â
Baltimore was one point off a career-high with 31 points along with 11 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. It was another day at the office for
Sean Johnson, who tied for a season-high eight blocks to go with 10 points and six rebounds.
Jordon Kedrowski rounded out the Red Men in double-figure scoring with 10 points while
Brett Czerak chipped in nine points.
Â
Carthage outshot the Titans with a 28-59 (.475) field goal percentage and a 10-24 (.417) figure from beyond the arch.
Â
The Red Men fall to 7-14, 2-10 CCIW while Illinois Wesleyan ups their record to 13-8, 6-6 CCIW.

Â
The Titans led for much of the opening stages of the first half before
Jordon Kedrowski sparked a 13-2 Red Men run with a layup at the 11:08 mark. This gave the Red Men their largest lead of the game at 25-17 with 7:03 left in the first half. Carthage wouldn't surrender that lead for the remainder of the half as they took a 33-31 advantage into the locker room.
Â
A 7-0 Titans run to begin the second half propelled them to a 38-33 cushion with 18:15 left in the contest. That was enough fuel for
Mike Canady, who gave Carthage a short-lived 39-28 lead with 17:10 left in the second off back-to-back three-pointers. The Titans responded and grew their lead to as much as 53-42 with 11:54 left in the game. However, 19 points from Baltimore from that point through the rest of the game gave Carthage life and a 74-73 lead with 0:14 left in the game. Brady Rose spoiled that with a driving layup, followed by an and-one basket with 0:7 left to give Illinois Wesleyan a 76-74 win.

The Red Men will travel to Carroll (Wis.) on Wednesday, February 6 at 7:00 p.m.
