KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College men's lacrosse team's 2019 home opener pitted them against Milwaukee School of Engineering in a Wednesday-afternoon bout at Art Keller Field. The Red Men dominated in every statistical category in a 12-5 route of the Raiders.
Carthage's domination was highlighted by a 55-20 shots advantage.

Colin Poitras and
Noah Lindner each tallied a hat trick.
Brody Ilstrup, who paced all players with 14 shots, tallied a four-point game with one goal and three assists.
Each team had 28 clear attempts in the contest as the Red Men converted 25 of them while MSOE capitalized on 21. Each squad also finished the match with 38 ground balls.

Sam Kotsonas notched eight saves in his second collegiate win while his counterpart Colin Hall came through with 23 saves for the Raiders.
Carthage improves to 2-0 on the season while MSOE kicks things off 0-1.

Carthage manhandled the Raiders with a 21-3 edge in shots over the first 15:00 en route to a 4-0 lead. Two of those goals came of the man-up variety courtesy of Lindner at the 9:02 mark to make the score 2-0, and Poitras with 5:14 left in the frame to make it 4-0.
The Raiders found the scoreboard on their first two shots of the second to narrow the score to 7-2 with 5:31 left in the frame. A pair of goals from each Lindner, Szun and Poitras in the second quarter pushed Carthage's lead to 10-2 at halftime.
Both teams settled down as MSOE outscored Carthage 3-2 over the final 30:00. Ilstrup and Szun each netted a second-half goal for Carthage to ice them a 12-5 win over MSOE.
The Red Men will return to action tomorrow, Thursday, February 28 at Art Keller Field against Beloit College at 7:00 p.m.
