MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The back-end of a two-game Minnesota swing pitted the Carthage College women's lacrosse team at Augsburg College for a Sunday-evening affair. An early 4-1 run, combined with
Jessie Gibson's career-high seven-goal game and 23 caused turnovers as a team propelled the Lady Reds to a 16-8 victory over the Auggies.

Gibson added an assist to her scoring total for an eight-point game, while
Nicole Bowman followed with five goals and two assists for seven points.
Emily Lima tallied her fifth-consecutive five caused turnover game, and engineered a Lady Reds defense that notched the fifth most caused turnovers in a game ever with 23.
Margaux Giacotto and
Hanna Holloway each chipped in four caused turnovers a piece for Carthage.

The Lady Reds outshot Augsburg 37-30 in the contest.
Amy Sorge picked up the complete-game victory in net for Carthage with seven saves, while her counterpart Maddie Seykora made 17 saves for the Auggies. Carthage finished the game with an efficient 22-25 on clears, and held Augsburg to an 18-29 mark.

The Lady Reds set the tempo with three shots before Augsburg converted their first shot off Megan Furlong's goal with 27:44 left in the first to make the score 1-0. Carthage's next five shots turned into goals, giving them a 5-2 lead with 20:05 left in the opening half. The Lady Reds defense took over as they closed the remainder of the frame with nine caused turnovers while a pair of
Hanna Holloway goals and a
Jessie Gibson tally widened Carthage's lead to 8-5 at halftime.

Jessie Gibson's four second-half goals and one assist commanded a Carthage offense that matched their first-half goal total of eight. Carthage's nine caused turnovers within the final 30:00 also helped seal a 16-8 victory. Â Â
