WAUKESHA, WIS.—The Carthage College women's basketball team began their final week of the 2018-19 season with a road-bout at Carroll University (Wis.) on Wednesday. A stellar third quarter that saw the Lady Reds outscore Carroll 19-5 was enough arsenal in a 65-59 victory.

Four Lady Reds eclipsed double-figure scoring in the contest, led by
Autumn Kalis's 17 points on 5-of-17 shooting from beyond the arch and six assists.
Rachel Szydlowski followed with 14 points while
Maggie Berigan narrowly missed a double-double with 12 points, nine boards along with five blocks.
Madie Kaelber registered 10 points for the Lady Reds.

The victory gives Carthage a 16-8, 10-5 CCIW mark while the Pioneers drop to 9-15, 4-11 CCIW.

Lady Reds 65, Carroll 59

Maggie Berigan paced the Lady Reds with seven points, three rebounds and one block in the first quarter, which helped power her team to a 17-14 lead after the frame. The Lady Reds let their lead slip away as Sierra Grubor scored Carroll's first seven points in the second quarter, which cut their deficit to one point at 22-21 with 8:01 left before they took a 24-22 lead off Emily Majerus's three-pointer at the 7:32 mark. The Pioneers and Lady Reds traded leads once more before Carroll went into the locker room with a 36-32 edge.

The third quarter was all Carthage as
Madie Kaelber's seven points in the frame powered their 19-5 run, giving them a 51-41 lead heading into the fourth, where they secured 65-59 victory.

The Lady Reds will conclude their 2018-19 regular season at home against Augustana College on Saturday, February 16 at 5:00 p.m.
