KENOSHA, WIS.—With third place already locked, it was only a matter of who the Carthage College women's basketball team would draw in the CCIW Quarterfinal prior to their 2018-19 season finale against Augustana College at Tarble Arena on Saturday. The Lady Reds couldn't end on a positive note in a 61-55 loss to the Vikings.

The #6 Elmhurst Bluejays will invade Tarble Arena for a CCIW Quarterfinal match-up on Tuesday, February 19 for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off after their 61-59 win over North Central College on Saturday.Â

Four Lady Reds reached double figure scoring, led by
Autumn Kalis's 15 points and three 3-point field goals made.
Bailey Gilbert knocked down three 3-point baskets en route to 11 points along with a game-high seven boards and six assists.
Sammie Woodward followed with six rebounds along with 10 points while
Madie Kaelber matched that scoring total with 10.

The Vikings' Alexis Jones registered a game-high 23 points on 6-for-8 shooting beyond the arch.

The Lady Reds conclude the regular season 16-9, 10-6 CCIW as the #3 seed in the 2019 CCIW Women's Basketball Tournament. The #4 Augustana Vikings wrap their 2018-19 campaign with a 14-11, 8-8 CCIW mark and will face #5 North Park in the other CCIW Quarterfinal match on Tuesday, February 19. #1 Wheaton and #2 Illinois Wesleyan University make up the top two seeds in the six-team field.

The Lady Reds jumped to a 20-10 cushion at the 1:34 mark of the first, their largest lead of the game. That was all the ignition Augustana needed as they responded with a 17-0 run, which gave them a 27-20 lead with 3:24 left in the second. Carthage scored their first basket of the second with 1:38 left when
Bailey Gilbert's jumper cut the score to 27-22 before going into halftime down 30-26.

The Lady Reds were able to tie the Vikings twice throughout the second half, but couldn't get over the hump in a 61-55 loss.
