Red Men Take Down North Park 46-14

KENOSHA, Wis. — A strong defensive performance combined with nearly 600 total yards of offense guided the Carthage College football team over North Park 46-14 Saturday afternoon at Art Keller Field.

The Red Men (4-4, 4-3 CCIW) scored on their first two drives of the game, holding the Vikings (0-8, 0-7 CCIW) in check to take a 12-0 lead. As the first quarter neared its end, Billy Dury found Sam Limbaugh in the end zone for six, pushing the Carthage lead to 18-0.

On their first drive of the second quarter, Jalen Dennis connected with Jovone Stricker for one of his three receiving touchdowns. While the visitors would get on the board with a score of their own, the Red Men responded, as Dennis found Limbaugh for a 24-yard touchdown to make it 32-7 just before the half.

After a scoreless third period the Red Men struck early in the fourth, with Dennis tossing a screen to Dana Fontenot, who broke free and outran the North Park secondary for a 50-yard touchdown.

Dury and Stricker would connect later in the fourth, with the visitors scoring once more to set the final tally at 46-14.

Up next for Carthage is a tough road game at Wheaton next Saturday, November 9 at 1 p.m.

Head Coach Dustin Hass

"It was a good team win, a lot of guys stepped up and they played really well. A lot of the credit goes to the guys up front for doing a great job. Our guys were very focused and prepared well all week, and we did a great job keeping our composure and understanding what that game was about. Overall I love it, it was a great team victory and I'm very proud of our guys and the effort put forth today."
