Carthage Athletics Unveils New Golf Practice Facility

11/19/2019 11:48:00 AM

KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage College Athletic Department completed construction on their brand new golf training facility, the Dale Golf Center, giving the men's and women's golf programs a brand new, state-of-the-art space to practice indoors within the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center.

"We couldn't be more excited about our incredible new indoor golf center," said head women's golf coach Brandy Johnston. "It is a top-of-the-line facility, and it represents the strong commitment Carthage College has to its athletic programs. We are very thankful for the efforts of Athletic Director Michelle Manning, President Swallow, Ted Fares, Sam Craig, and everyone else who made this dream a reality. We are truly fortunate to be a part of the Carthage Community."

The new facility opened last week after construction began earlier this fall to convert one of the racquetball courts. Two indoor simulators were installed, a putting green, and a golf bag storage space, all set under the new conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance banners.

"It is an exciting time for Carthage golf and all of the student-athletes and coaches within," said men's golf senior Reid Anderson. "The programs are especially thankful for all of the efforts from Michelle Manning, President Swallow, Ted Fares, the athletic department, and Carthage College to have made this possible. With two Trackman simulators, a putting green, lockers and the best technology currently available out on the PGA Tour right now, our student-athletes are looking forward to utilizing the facility to help win championships for Carthage."

Each team will be able to take advantage of the brand new space immediately, and begin training for the upcoming 2020 spring season. The men's team will open up on March 28 at Knox College, with the women getting back to action since their 2019 conference title at the Washington University Spring Invitational on April 4.
