James Trachsel led the Firebirds' scoring, placing third. Due to a lighting delay, the match was called early, and scores were calculated from day one only.

"It is never fun to have half the tournament rained out, so you leave with an unsatisfied feeling", said head coach Jay Christiansen. "Trax, Nick, and Brett played very confidently on day 1, and it showed up on their scorecards. This game is so reliant on confidence, and finding that comfort zone can be elusive. As the defending champs of this tournament, the largest tournament field of the year, I think we may have pressed a bit. Brightondale is a great test, but it is also a course we know well, so maybe our expectations got in our way a bit. 7th and 14th out of 45 teams is nice, but I believe we have a little more than that. Lastly, with Homecoming week coming up, we are gonna have to keep our focus, keep trying to outwork the competition, and get ourselves ready for the big UW Stout Intercollegiate at Grand Geneva next weekend."
The Firebirds will be back in action on Sunday, September 28, at the UW-Stout Invite hosted by UW-Stout. For more information, visit our
