KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College women's soccer team welcomed the Carroll University (Wis.) Pioneers to Art Keller Field for Saturday evening's CCIW opener. The Lady Reds peppered Carroll (Wis.) for a 22-9 advantage in shots, but couldn't muster a goal in a 0-0 tie.

Joanne Stanfa paced the Carthage offense with four shots a piece while 
Jacey Kent followed with three. Goalkeeper 
Sara Lieffrig made four saves in net for Carthage while Christina O'Block turned away nine shots in net for Carroll.
 
The Lady Reds' second tie of 2018 sends their record to 4-2-2, 0-0-1 CCIW while Carroll sits at 1-4-3, 0-0-1 through Saturday.

Both of Carroll's first-half shots were saved by Lieffrig. Carthage returned the favor with seven first-half shots, three of which were saved by Christina O'Block to keep the contest at 0-0. The Lady Reds held a 6-4 shots advantage throughout the second half, but couldn't capitalize on three of their corner kick attempts en route to a scoreless 0-0 tie after intermission.
 
The Lady Reds dominated overtime with a 9-3 advantage in shots over Carroll (Wis.) throughout the 20:00 of extra soccer, but couldn't beat O'Block in a scoreless 0-0 tie.
 
Carthage will end their five-game home stand against UW-Whitewater on Wednesday, September 26 at 5:00 p.m.
