The Eagles held a slight 5-4 edge in shots over Carthage at intermission, where the score stood 0-0. The Lady Reds evened that shot margin in the 48th minute when Joanne Stanfa fed a cross pass from the right side of the field over to Anna McHatton, who buried her first goal of the season in front of the net to give Carthage a 1-0 lead.

The Lady Reds eventually registered a 7-6 advantage in shots in the 53rd minute, but couldn't muster another shot the remainder of the contest as UW-La Crosse notched six unanswered shots. It resulted in a pair of goals from Cassie Handrick in the 64th and 75th minutes to propel UW-La Crosse to a 2-1 victory.

Carthage finished the contest with seven shots, highlighted by Stanfa's two.

The Lady Reds will continue their five-game home swing on Wednesday, September 19 against UW-Oshkosh at 5:00 p.m.
