Lady Reds Punch Postseason Ticket With Win At Augie, 16-4

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Carthage College Lady Reds punched their ticket to the postseason and earned their second win in program history over the Augustana College on Saturday, defeating the Vikings, 16-6, in Rock Island.

The win moves the Lady Reds to 11-5 on the season and guarantees Carthage a berth into the 2018 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Lacrosse Tournament with a 3-2 conference record.

The Lady Reds were led by Rachel Mussell and Nicole Bowman, whom each tallied four goals in the win, followed by India Soodan and Jessie Gibson with a hat-trick apiece.  Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Reds was Megan McNamara and Elena Herman with a goal each.

A game after Emily Lima rewrote the record books for turnovers caused in a season this past Thursday, Megan McNamara etched her name in the record books, as the junior recorded five assists to pass Lauren Hein on the single season assists list.  McNamara now stands alone at the top with 41 and at least two games remaining in the season.  Hein's record was 38.

The Lady Reds will conclude their 2018 regular season on the road, Wednesday, as Carthage heads to Elmhurst College for a 7:00 p.m. game.
