Lady Reds Cruise Past Cougars At Art Keller Field Tuesday, 14-5

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College women's lacrosse team snapped their two-game losing streak on Tuesday night with a dominant non-conference win over the Cougars of Concordia University Chicago at Art Keller Field, 14-5.

The win moves the Lady Reds to 9-3 on the season, while the Cougars fall to 3-11 with the loss.

Carthage came out and grabbed control of the game early, with a 4-0 run to open the game with a lead they would never relinquish.  Freshman, Jessie Gibson led the Lady Reds with four first half goals to help Carthage build a 9-2 lead at the half.  Gibson finished one off her season-high with five goals in the win.

Also scoring personal season-high four goals was Kendell Santin.  The junior midfielder also added a game-high seven ground balls to lead all players.

Greigh Hoeft rounded out the Lady Reds multi-goal scorers with two in the win; marking the third time she has accomplished the feat this season.  Nicole Bowman, Savanna Giesler and India Soodan each added one goal as well.

Defensively, Emily Lima forced four turnovers and Maggie Allen made four saves in her 47-plus minutes in goals, picking up the win before turning it over to Amy Sorge for the final 12 minutes.

The Lady Reds will look to put together another strong performance as they return to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play on Thursday, when Carthage hosts Carroll University in their final home game of 2018.  The Lady Reds will play in the second game of a men's and women's doubleheader at 7:00 p.m.
