KENOSHA, WIS.—The opening stage of the Carthage College women's soccer team's four-game home swing featured #18 University of Chicago for a rare Tuesday-night bout.

Libby Snyder each picked up their first points of the season for the Lady Reds, which resulted in a 1-0 lead in the 31
st minute. The Maroons, who were ranked #3 on the Division III Women's United Soccer Coaches' Poll prior to today, responded with an 11-3 edge in shots the remainder of the game en route to a 4-2 victory.
Snyder and Sisto each registered a goal and an assist for the Carthage offense while
Morgan Verbeten was credited with a helper. The Lady Reds peppered six shots in the contest while Chicago registered 15.

Sara Lieffrig turned away six shots in a compete-game effort. Chicago goalkeeper Miranda Malone made two saves throughout the opening 45:00 before being relieved by Katie Donovan, who didn't record a save in the second half.
Carthage falls to 5-4-2, 0-1-1 CCIW while Chicago ups their record to 9-1-1, 1-0 UAA.

The first two scoring chances of the game belonged to Carthage when
Courtney Lee registered a shot on goal in the fifth and 18
th minutes. Their next shot found the back of the net in the 31
st minute when Verbeten and Snyder set up Sisto's shot 15 yards in front of Maroons goalkeeper Malone, which gave the Lady Reds a 1-0 edge.
The stingy Chicago defense didn't allow another Lady Reds shot in the opening half while they returned the favor with two. One of those shots belonged to Jenna McKinney, who beat Lieffrig in the 36
th minute to tie the game 1-1.
The Maroons gained the lead at 2-1 off Adriana Shutler's goal in the 64
th minute before the Snyder-Sisto connection came through again. Snyder took a rebound off Sisto's shot that hit the post in front of the net, where she beat Donovan in the 75
th minute to make the score 2-2. The Lady Reds couldn't muster another shot in the game as goals from Hanna Watkins in the 78
th minute, and Maddie DeVoe in the 85
th minute sealed a 4-2 win for Chicago.
The Lady Reds will end non-conference play on Saturday, October 6 when they host Lake Forest College at 1:00 p.m.
