KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College women's soccer team concluded their four-game home stand with a Saturday-evening bout against Illinois Wesleyan University. The Lady Reds held Illinois Wesleyan to zero second-half shots, but couldn't overcome goalkeeper Kelli McCarthy's five saves in a 2-0 loss.

Libby Snyder, who each registered a pair of shots, engineered a Carthage offense that outshot the Titans 8-7Â after being in a 7-5 hole at halftime. Lady Reds goalkeeper
Sara Lieffrig allowed two goals and notched three saves over the opening 45:00 before she was relieved by
Emily Furmanek, who didn't record a save in the second half. Flower Edington and Rosie Pettenuzzo each registered a goal for the Titans while Ellie Crabtree recorded an assist on each play.

Carthage couldn't capitalize on four corner kick opportunities within the opening 25:00. This ignited a Titans goal in the 30
th minute, courtesy of leading scorer Flower Edington to make the score 1-0. Megan O'Neal and Ellie Crabtree were credited with assists on the goal.

Illinois Wesleyan turned their second corner kick of the game into a goal in the 37
th minute when Rosie Pettenuzzo converted a header off Crabtree's boot from the southwest end of the field to push the margin to 2-0. Carthage responded with a 4-1 shots advantage from that point forward despite not finding the back of the net.
