KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College women's soccer team faced Aurora University in a Sunday matinee at Art Keller Field, where they registered a 4-1 victory. The win kept Aurora's winless 2017 season intact. All of Carthage's goals in the contest came from a different player, the third time that's occurred this season.

Kelsey Dejno and
Darcy Stoecklin (penalty kick) each tallied goals for a Lady Reds team that outshot the Spartans by a 3:1 ratio (15-5). Stoecklin, who laced two shots, was the lone Carthage player with multiple shots in the contest.

Carthage improves their record to 5-2, 0-0 CCIW while Aurora falls to 0-6, 0-0 NACC. The Lady Reds now own a three-game win streak.

The Lady Reds capitalized on their first scoring opportunity following
Taylor Stenmark's corner kick 15:15 into the contest. The kick landed on a herd of players before it found
Erin Otto, who booted a pass that hit an Aurora defender and found
Talia Jaramillo in front of the net. Jaramillo laced a one-time shot that beat Spartan goalkeeper Taylor Joiner in the 16
th minute to give Carthage a 1-0 advantage.

Anna McHatton made the score 2-0 in the 26
th minute after she possessed a pass from
Maggie Washelesky 20 yards in front of the net on Joiner's right-hand side. McHatton slipped a Spartan defender 15 yards away before she saw a wide-open field, where she fired a shot to the back of the net.

The Lady Reds concluded the first half with a 7-1 advantage in shots.
Kelsey Dejno tallied her team-leading sixth goal of the season in the 57
th minute to widen Carthage's advantage to 3-0 before a milestone occurred. Â Stoecklin, who played in 60 career games prior to today, tallied her first career goal off a penalty kick in the 76
th minute to make the score 4-0.

The Spartans' spoiled Carthage's shutout bid when Kelsey King registered her first goal of the season in the 85
th minute to narrow the score to 4-1.

Emily Furmanek tallied zero saves in the complete-game victory, while Joiner notched five saves in 84:04 of work for Aurora.
