KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College women's volleyball team won their opening match of their 2017 Carthage College Women's Volleyball Tournament on Friday night at Tarble Arena with a straight-set win over St. Norbert College, 3-0.
The win improves Carthage's record on the season to 6-2, while sending St. Norbert to 3-9.
In the first match of the tournament on Friday, Concordia University of Wisconsin defeated Alma College, 3-0.

Carthage took control early in the match behind the serve of
Megan Behrendt, which saw the Lady Reds jump out to a 9-1 lead in the first courtesy of a 9-0 run with three aces by Behrendt.
As a team, the Lady Reds finished with six total aces to the Green Knights' two, with Behrendt leading the way with four.
Shannon Kebisek and
Rachael Kisten each turned in a dozen kills in the win and helped the Lady Reds to a .229 hitting percentage advantage to SNC's .091.
A match that included some long rallies saw senior libero add 19 digs to her season total. Now sitting at a team-high 142 after the win.
Setter
Ellie LeCount also turned in a game-high high 25 assists for Carthage, giving her four-straight matches with at least 25 assists.
The tournament will continue on Saturday morning with Alma and St. Norbert kicking-off action at 10:00 a.m. followed by Concordia and St. Norbert at noon. The Lady Reds will play in the day's final two matches as Carthage takes on Alma at 2:00 p.m. and Concordia at 4:00 p.m.
