KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College women's volleyball team opened their 2017 home schedule with a strong win on Wednesday, defeating Cardinal Stritch University in four sets, 3-1.
The win moves the Lady Reds to 5-2 on the season, while the Wolves fall to 2-10 in 2017.

Despite a .000 hitting percentage for the Lady Red, Carthage dominated the four-set match hitting .303 to CSU's .132 to take the contest 25-14, 17-25, 25-11, 25-16.
A season-high five Lady Reds finished with double figures in kills, led by outside hitter
Megan Behrendt with 13. Joining her was
Shannon Kebisek and
Rachael Kisten with 12, and
Megan Fallert and
Mallory Parsons with ten each.
Ellie LeCount just missed matching her career-high of 40 assist, which she set over the weekend, with 37 assists on the night to lead all players and senior libero
Luci Krenzke led all players with 16 digs.
The Lady Reds also won the service battle on the night, ripping eight aces to the Wolves two, led by Behrendt and LeCount with three each.
Next up for Carthage, the Lady Reds will host their 2017 tournament at Tarble Arena this weekend as they welcome Alma College, St. Norbert College and Concordia University of Wisconsin. The Lady Reds will play at 8:00 p.m. on Friday as they take on St. Norbert and at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday against Alma and Concordia respectively.
