KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College men's lacrosse team hosted a rare doubleheader tilt against Whittier College (Calif.) and North Central College (Ill.). The Red Men registered wins against Northland College (21-5) and Hope College (14-5) in their previous doubleheader on February 10. The wear and tear of two games continued to not faze Carthage as they defeated Whittier College 12-2, and North Central 8-4. Saturday's nightcap also marked the inaugural meeting between Carthage and the first-year Cardinals.

David Neff, who tallied his 100
th career coaching victory. The doubleheader sweep gives Neff a 101-51 career record.

The sweep gives Carthage a 12-3, 4-0 CCIW record. Whittier falls to 7-6 while North Central drops to 9-2, 1-1 CCIW.

Billy Lane tied for a career-high five goals in the contest while
Andy Szun contributed a hat trick.

Two of Lane's goals gave Carthage a 2-0 advantage at the 9:05 mark of the first quarter, with his second tally coming at the man-up variety. The Red Men racked up two penalties within the next four minutes of play. Whittier capitalized on one of them when Nate Heritage registered a man-up goal with 5:29 left in the opening frame to cut their deficit to 2-1.

Szun closed the frame with a pair of goals to push Carthage's advantage to 4-1 heading into the second frame. The dynamic duo of Lane and Szun tallied all four Carthage goals in the second quarter to widen the score to 8-1 at halftime.

The Red Men managed two goals in the third quarter despite outshooting Whittier 14-6 in the frame. Those goals came from
Luke Seydel and
Jordyn Williams to make the score 10-1. Fourth-quarter goals from
William Gast and
Clayton Smith helped Carthage outscore the Poets 2-1 in the frame and lock up a 12-2 victory.

The Red Men out shot Whittier 44-18 while also holding advantages in ground balls (29-14) and face-off wins (11-6) in the contest.
Andy Meyers won 11-of-14 attempts from the circle and scooped nine ground balls in the process.

The Red Men out shot North Central 11-3 in the opening frame, but only mustered a pair of goals.
Luke Seydel gave Carthage a 1-0 lead at the 8:18 mark of the first quarter. North Central tied the game 1-1 with 6:33 left in the frame before Carthage regained the lead with Lane's goal at the 5:00 mark of the opening quarter.

The Cardinals' Danny Boyle notched the second quarter's lone goal with 9:48 remaining to tie the game 2-2.

The third quarter was déjà vu from the first as Carthage registered 11 shots. The Red Men managed three goals to the Cardinals' two to take a 5-4 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Ryan Smith stopped all seven North Central shots in the fourth quarter. He received four goals of offensive support to ice an 8-4 victory over North Central.

The Red Men out shot North Central 36-20 in the contest while holding advantages in ground balls (28-15) and faceoffs (14-2). Seydel and Lane each notched two goals for the Carthage offense while Meyers won 14-of-16 faceoffs.
Goalkeeper Smith made 10 saves for the Red Men in the contest.
