KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College men's lacrosse team hosted Concordia University (Wis.) in game two of a three-contest home swing on Tuesday night. The Red Men didn't trail once in a 10-4 victory over the Falcons at Art Keller Field. The victory gives Carthage a three-game win streak heading into their first CCIW match of the season against Aurora University on Saturday, March 11.

"This game was a reaffirmation for me on what we really have," said Carthage head men's lacrosse coach
David Neff following the victory. "I think the guys played well on both sides of the field. I think we grinded things out, which our motto this season has been to embrace the grind."

Billy Lane, who peppered the Falcons for 13 shots in the game, led all scorers with a hat trick. It marked Lane's second three-plus goal game of the season.
Ben Morgan and
Andrew Krom each netted a goal and an assist for the Carthage offense.

Andy Meyers, who entered Tuesday's bout ranked fourth in the country with a .803 face-off percentage, tallied a 14-of-17 figure from the circle against the Falcons. He also added three caused turnovers, all of which occurred in the first half.

The Red Men improve to 5-1, 0-0 CCIW while Concordia (Wis.) falls to 3-2, 0-0 MLC.

Lane broke the tie score on two occasions for Carthage. The first occurred at the 12:11 mark of the first quarter when he picked up a ground ball off an ensuing Falcon turnover before he fired a shot to the back of the net to make the score 1-0.

After Concordia (Wis.) tied the game 1-1 with 7:54 left in the first quarter, Lane gave Carthage the lead for good. He tallied his ninth goal of the season at the 3:13 mark of the opening frame to give the Red Men a 2-1 lead. Carthage eventually took a 3-1 lead off a
Ben Morgan goal with 0:05 remaining in the first quarter.

Both of Meyers' caused turnovers in the second frame resulted in Carthage goals, which propelled them to a 5-3 lead at halftime.

A penalty-laden third quarter saw the Red Men come out with an 8-4 cushion despite holding a slim 9-8 advantage in shots.
Luke Seydel and
Andy Szun (Man-Up) each registered a goal for Carthage in the fourth quarter to secure a 10-4 victory.

The Red Men out shot Concordia (Wis.) 37-25 in the contest while they converted on 13-of-16 clear attempts.

Ryan Smith earned the victory with 11 saves in 57:21 of work.

"I just felt like it was one of the harder fought wins since I've been here," said Neff.
The Red Men will close their three-game home stand against University of Dubuque on Saturday, March 11 at 1:00 p.m.
