Lady Reds Dominate Cougars At Art Keller On Wednesday, 16-4

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College Lady Reds cruised to victory Wednesday at Art Keller Field as the women's lacrosse team dominated Concordia University Chicago from start to finish in the Lady Reds, 16-4, win.

The win moves the Lady Reds to 6-3 on the season with the non-conference win, while the Cougars fall to 2-8 in 2017.

"Really happy that we came out and executed our game plan tonight," said head women's lacrosse coach Lauren Hein following the win.  "We did a great job capitalizing on fast breaks tonight, which we really were focused on leading up to today.  That allowed us to get out to an early lead and earn a good victory."

Kendell Santin led all players with five goals in the win, followed by Maddie Griffin with four, Bryanna Barrera and Mackenzie Day with two, and Nicole Bowman, Rachel Mussell and Maddie Palmerson with one each.  Griffin also added three assists to lead all players.

On the play of Santin the head coach said, "We loved what we saw from Kendell tonight. She has been really stepping up for us on both ends of the field, and we are excited to see what she does in conference."

Maggie Allen earned the win for the Lady Reds, making three saves in the win.

The Lady Reds built a commanding 8-0 lead to open the game and took a 10-3 lead into the halftime break.

Carthage continued to stretch the lead in the second half, adding six goals in the final 30-minutes to cruise to victory.

The Lady Reds return to action for their College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin opener on Saturday, April 8th, as Carthage hosts Elmhurst College at Art Keller Field at 4:30 p.m.
