Despite being in a 19-14 hole after the first quarter, the Lady Reds locked down Drew leading scorer, 6'2 freshman post player Moe Campbell-Davis. Carthage held Campbell-Davis, who checked-in at the 5:11 mark and checked-out with 1:29 on the clock, to just two points and one rebound in the first quarter.

Madie Kaelber registered Carthage's first eight points of the second frame, but a pair of field goals from Campbell-Davis and a trio of three pointers for Drew gave them their largest lead of the game at 37-22 with 1:03 left in the second quarter, where Carthage mounted their comeback.

The Lady Reds, who went to halftime down 37-26, responded with a 10-0 run capped by Szydlowski's layup with 6:18 left in the third to cut their deficit to 37-32. It was Szydlowski who gave Carthage their first lead of the game with a layup at the 2:47 mark of the third quarter to make the score 40-38. The Lady Reds would outscore Drew 18-3 in the third quarter en route to a 44-40 lead heading into the final 10:00.

It was a lead Carthage didn't surrender as six different players found the scoring column in the final frame to secure a 60-53 victory.

The Lady Reds will face Simpson College on the back end of the Daytona Beach Shootout on Thursday, December 21 at 12:00 p.m. (ET).
