Box Score KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College men's soccer team thrilled a home crowd Saturday evening at Art Keller Field with an offensive explosion of goals, defeating Silver Lake College, 5-0.
The Red Men opened the scoring with a pair of goals in the first four minutes from
Austin Bitta and
Kevin Mahoney respectively.
Carthage kept the offense flowing with three more goals in the first half to give the Red Men a 5-0 lead into the half courtesy of
Zach Schoffstall in the eighth minute,
Tristian Penick in the 24th minute and
Sahr Mahoney in the 25th minute.
The Red Men were able to slow the game down in the second half and maintained their five goal advantage to take the 5-0 vicotry.
Evan Bott took the win for the Red Men as he along with
Nicholas Sucher and
Luke Maddock combined for the shutout of the Lakers.
The Red Men return home Tuesday, September 27th for a nationally-ranked matchup as the Red Men, who are currently #24 in the nation play host to #4 University of Chicago at Art Keller Field. Kick off is set for 7:00 p.m.
