COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.—Day two of the Carthage College men's lacrosse team's trip to Colorado Springs pitted them against Colorado College. The Red Men are coming off a 18-7 loss to Williams College on Saturday afternoon and were looking for their first victory since a 15-7 decision at Hanover College on March 23.
Â
Andy Szun contributed four goals for the Red Men on Sunday afternoon, but it wasn't enough in a 13-8 loss to Colorado College.
Â
The Red Men fall to 5-6, 1-0 CCIW while Colorado College improves to 7-4.

Colorado College 13, Red Men 8
Â
The opening two quarters were like a game of chess as several lead changes took place. The Red Men set the tone after they recovered a Colorado College turnover in the game's opening minutes, which set up
Jared Ferrell's goal at the 14:18 mark of the first quarter to make the score 1-0.
Â
After the Tigers took a 2-1 lead with 12:30 left in the first quarter, the Red Men capitalized on a man-up opportunity. An unnecessary roughness call on the Tigers paid off for Carthage when Szun tallied his first goal of the game with 7:44 left in the first quarter to tie the game 2-2.
Â
The Tigers took a 3-2 lead before goals from Szun and
Dylan Harris in the final two minutes of the first quarter gave the Red Men a 4-3 lead.
Â
The Red Men held 5-4 and 6-5 leads before things turned in Colorado College's favor. A crosse in the face penalty called on the Red Men with 4:42 remaining in the second quarter proved to be the turning point, which forced them to call a timeout to re-group.
Â
Tyler Borko capitalized on the Tiger's man-up opportunity with a goal at the 4:19 mark of the second quarter to make the score 6-6. This provided momentum for Colorado College, enough to help them take a 9-6 lead with 12:00 left in the third quarter.
Â
Ferrell and Szun each tallied a goal for the Red Men to close the rest of the game, but that 9-6 deficit was too much to overcome in a 13-8 loss to the Tigers.
Â
The Tigers and Red Men were each two-for-four on man-up chances.
Â
Carthage will return to Art Keller Field on Friday, April 8 against Whittier College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
