KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College men's volleyball team (8-1, 1-0 Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League), ranked No. 6 in the February 2
nd AVCA Coaches Top 15 Poll, opened conference play against the Bulldogs of Adrian College (0-5, 0-1 MCVL) at Tarble Arena on Friday, February 5
th.

The Red Men opened the first set with a six-point run to take the lead 6-0. A few points later, Carthage would make an 11-point run with
Scotty Adamczyk serving to take a 20-3 lead. The Red Men would take the first set 25-5.

The second and third sets showed more of the same as Carthage won each set 25-9, earning a 3-0 sweep of the Bulldogs.

Collectively, the Red Men recorded 30 kills, six service aces, five blocks, 22 assists, 26 digs and hit .453.
Max Bongratz had a career-high in both kills and aces as he led the Red Men with 10 and four.
Evan Walsh and
Marc Hansen made seven and four kills each, respectively.
Ryan Paull connected on three blocks along with Hansen and Bongratz with two each.
Matt Reinsel recorded 16 kills and
Scotty Adamczyk and
Cody Bolan each earned six digs.

"It always feels good to start off conference-play with a good win, especially after a big win like last night. Santa Cruz is always a tough opponent for us," said assistant coach Ryan Thompson. "We knew today was going to be a completely different challenge, but our guys really stepped up and did a good job."

The Red Men return to Tarble Arena on Saturday, February 6
th at 3 p.m. as they take on MCVL opponent Olivet College (1-3, 0-1 MCVL).
