KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College women's soccer team will continue their College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin quest at Art Keller Field on Wednesday, October 5 against Wheaton College (Ill.) at 5:00 p.m. The Lady Reds will travel to Milwaukee School of Engineering in a non-conference bout on Saturday, October 8 at 1:00 p.m.

A combined 25 shots were produced by Carthage throughout their two-game swing against #4 University of Chicago and North Central College (Ill.) last week. Those shots failed to find the back of the net for the Lady Reds in a 2-0 loss to #4 Chicago on September 28, and a 1-0 defeat to North Central College (Ill.) on October 1.

Freshman goalkeeper
Emily Furmanek registered eight saves, and a 1.50 goals against average throughout Carthage's two games last week. The Orland Park, Ill. native owns a 1.01 goals against average and a .820 save percentage in nine starts for Carthage.

Maggie Washlelesky leads the Lady Reds offensively with three goals and two assists for eight points.
Danielle Noverini is next with four assists on the season.

Carthage's 5-4-0 record is their best start through nine games since their 7-2-0 mark in 2013.

The Thunder will bring a three-game win streak into their showdown with the Lady Reds on Wednesday. Those three victories include a 2-1 decision over UW-Oshkosh, a 1-0 advantage over Calvin College and a 4-0 shutout over North Park University. That three-game win streak comes after a 1-6 start to the 2016 season.

Autumn Rasmussen leads the Thunder scoring attack with five goals for 10 points. Sarah Frey trails her with two goals and two assists for six points. Kathryn McGregor has been a mainstay in net for the Thunder. She owns a 1.33 goals against average and a .780 save percentage in eight starts.

The Lady Reds are looking for their first victory over the Thunder since October 15, 2008 when they tallied a 2-1 decision at Art Keller Field.
