WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Carthage College Lady Reds earned a split Friday, October 21st, against some nationally ranked opponents with the women's volleyball team defeating #21 University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and falling to #11 University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The split moves the Lady Reds to 14-10 overall in the 2016 season in the final weekend non-conference tournament of the year.

In the opened Carthage used a dominant first set which the Lady Reds hit .500 with 17 kills and only three errors to take the first set, 25-16, and set the tone of the match. The second and third sets would be more of a test for the Lady Reds, who were led by
Stephanie Korbakes' 15 kills in the match, taking the second set, 26-24, and the third, 32-30, htting .244 for the match to Oshkosh's .131.

Carthage wasn't able to repeat in the evening as the Lady Reds fell to UW-Stevens Point in a sweep that went against them, 3-0. Despite
Shannon Kebisek's 15 kill,
Abigail McGowan's 20 assists and
Luci Krenzke's 24 digs, all match-highs, the #11 Pointers downed Carthage, 25-23, 25-16 and 26-24.

The Lady Reds return to action in Whitewater with two more matches on Saturday, starting with Loras College at 10:00 a.m., followed by host UW-Whitewater at noon.
