KENOSHA, Wis. – Carthage College football kicks off the season Saturday at 1 p.m. as the Red Men head north to battle St. Norbert College in the season's opener at Donald J. Schneider Stadium in De Pere, Wisconsin.

Carthage enters the season with high expectations looking to build on last season's 3-7 overall record under head coach
Mike Yeager, who enters his third full season at the helm of the Red Men football program.

This will be the second-consecutive season which Carthage and St. Norbert will open the season across the field from each other, with St. Norbert taking the opener last year, 25-13. Last season's meeting was the first-ever between the two programs.

Offensively, Carthage returns quarterback
Nick Anzelmo and his entire front five of
Isaiah Trussell,
Jacob Alten,
Joe Godlevske,
Kevin Blank and
Rocco Rasnic. Also returning for Anzelmo will be wide receivers
James Cobbs III,
Marquis Hines Jr., and College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin second team member
Javier Rhoades at tight end.Â

Anzelmo will be joined in the backfield by sophomore
Tristan Peterson who had 29 carries a season ago in seven games, and full back
Mark Clark.

On the defensive side of the ball, Carthage returns two All-CCIW second team players in
Shawntrel Garner at corner back and
Greg Money at linebacker.Â

The front four will be led by senior
Terrance Allen who will be joined by sophomores
Dan Pauscher and
Pete Laughlin, as well as one of two freshman expected to start in
Cedrick Fry.

Money will be surrounded by upperclassmen
Will Fairchild and
K.J. Simpson at outside lineback, and the aforementioned free safety, Shawntrell Garner will be joined in the secondary by corner backs
Virgil Young and
Joey Pausa, and fellow safety
Ricardo Mancilla.

Carthage will return home for week two to face Olivet in the home opener September 12th at 1 p.m. at Art Keller Field.
