KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College women's soccer team continues their three game road trip to open the 2015 season with a trip to the Atlantic Coast. The Lady Reds will play two games in two days at the 2015 Virginia Wesleyan College Atlantic Orthopedic Specialist Classic, September 5th and 6th at Foster Field in Virginia Beach.
Carthage (0-1-0) enters the tournament after falling to the University of Dubuque Tuesday in the season opener, 4-0.
Friday, Carthage will face Christopher Newport University at 8 PM EDT. Christopher Newport enters the classic at 1-0-0 after defeating Randolph-Macon College, 1-0, to open the season. Friday's match will be the first meeting between the programs.
The Lady Reds will have less than 24 hours to turn it around and play their second match of the tournament against the hosts, Virginia Wesleyan College (0-1-0) at 6 p.m. EDT on Saturday. VWC suffered a 5-1 setback to open their season at Messiah, and will face Berry on Friday before meeting Carthage on the pitch. This too will be the first meeting between the two programs.
Following the tournament, Lady Reds soccer will return to Kenosha where they will play their home opener at 8 p.m. on Friday, September 11th at Art Keller Field.
