KENOSHA, Wis. – Carthage College women's soccer earned their first win of the season Friday evening at Art Keller Field, as the Lady Reds exploded for four second half goals to earn a come-from-behind win over Concordia University Wisconsin, 4-1.

After falling behind Concordia (2-1-2) in the sixth minute on an own goal, Carthage (1-3-0) found their selves down, 1-0, after the first 45 minutes.

It looked like things were not going to go in Carthage's favor as
Rachel Post had an early second half penalty kick and the follow-up rebound saved.

But Carthage erupted after that, scoring four goals over a 23 minute span to give the Lady Reds their first win of the season.

Rachel Post got her revenge when she headed in a
Madeline Peno cross in the 52nd minute to draw the game even at 1-1.

Carthage got the game-winner in the 64th minute as
Lauren Szumski crossed a ball from the left wing over a back pedaling CUW goalkeeper and on to the head of a waiting
Maggie Washelesky on the back post.

Kayla McGuinness joined the scoring as she bent in a Carthage corner kick in the 70th minute.

Just three minutes later
Rachel Post capped off the scoring as
Corinne Brennan found
Danielle Noverini who crossed a ball just out the reach of the Concordia goalkeeper to a waiting Post who tapped her second goal of the night.

Women's soccer will return to Art Keller Saturday, September 12th at 5 p.m., following the Red Men football game, as the Lady Reds will host the St. Norbert College Green Knights at 5 p.m.
