DUBUQUE, Iowa – Carthage College women's soccer opened the 2015 season with a 4-0 setback at the University of Dubuque Tuesday afternoon.

The loss starts Carthage off at 0-1-0 on the season. The win for Dubuque gives them a 1-0-0 start to the season. This is the second consecutive season the Carthage has dropped its season opener, as well as the second consecutive visit to Dubuque which the Lady Reds have dropped.Â

Offensively for Carthage, All-CCIW second team member from 2014,
Danielle Noverini led the way with four shots for the Lady Reds, two of those forcing saves on target. After missing last season due to injury,
Corinne Brennan returned to the lineup finishing the game with three shots.Â

Dubuque's Paige Dykstra posted a clean-sheet for the hosts turning away all three shots she faced on target. Dubuque's Katie Lynn and Kyleigh McLaughlin each turned in two goals to pace the Spartans to victory.

The Lady Reds return to action Friday, September 4th when Carthage travels to Virginia Beach for the Virginia Wesleyan Atlantic Orthopedic Specialists Classic against Christopher Newport University followed by Virginia Wesleyan College on Saturday. Â
