Women's Lacrosse Drops its First CCIW Game, 16-6, at Augustana (Ill.) on April 22

The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (10-5, 4-1 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) lost its first conference game of the season on Wednesday, April 22, falling to Augustana College (Ill., 15-1, 5-0 CCIW), 16-6, at Thorson-Lucken Field in Rock Island, Ill.
 
The Vikings led, 7-2, at halftime, and out-scored the Lady Reds, 9-4, in the second period.  Kaylee Nolan led Augustana with four goals, three ground balls and 10 draw controls, while Anne Hopkins and Olivia Mayer each had three goals with one assist.  Rachel Mussell (Fr., Mendota Heights, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) led Carthage with two goals.
 
The Lady Reds close out their regular-season schedule on Saturday, April 25 by playing host to conference-opponent Elmhurst College (9-7, 2-3 CCIW) in a 1 p.m. contest at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.
