The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (10-4, 4-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) defeated CCIW-opponent the University of Dubuque (9-5, 2-3 CCIW), 18-6, on Saturday, April 18 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.

Carthage led, 9-3, at halftime and out-scored Dubuque, 9-3 in the second period.Â
Madison Griffin (So., Parker, Colo./Ponderosa) led the Lady Reds with five goals, one assist, five ground balls and four caused turnovers.Â
Rachel Mussell (Fr., Mendota Heights, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) scored five goals with one assist and four ground balls.
Hannah Bellenbaum (Sr., Lake Oswego, Ore.) and
Mackenzie Day (So., Greenwood Village, Colo.,/Cherry Creek) added three goals each, with
Taylor Sopron (Jr., La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) collecting nine saves. Robyn Wittkopf and Alora Esparza scored two goals each for Dubuque.

Carthage travels to Rock Island, Ill., on Wednesday, April 22 to play CCIW-opponent and No. 25 Augustana College (Ill., 14-1, 4-0 CCIW) in a 7 p.m. game at Thorson-Lucken Field.
