The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (9-4, 3-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) defeated CCIW-opponent North Central College (9-2, 3-1 CCIW), 15-12, on Wednesday, April 15 at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium in Naperville, Ill.

Carthage led, 8-4, at halftime. The Lady Reds led by six, 15-9, at 8:43 before the Cardinals closed to within two, 15-13, at 4:17, and that was the final margin. Carthage's
Rachel Mussell (Fr., Mendota Heights, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) scored four goals with three ground balls, while
Madison Griffin (So., Parker, Colo./Ponderosa) had three goals, three assists and three ground balls. Lady Reds goalkeeper
Taylor Sopron (Jr., La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) collected 13 saves. Claire Norfleet led the Cardinals with five goals, two assists and seven ground balls.

Carthage plays host to conference-opponent the University of Dubuque (9-4, 2-2 CCIW) in a 3 p.m. contest on Saturday, April 18 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.
